2020 WSOP Features Record Number of Online Bracelet Events

This year’s WSOP schedule is now complete, and it’s great news for online poker players.

The World Series of Poker tournament, which begins May 27, is set to feature an increased number of online bracelet events.

After nine were featured last year and went down a treat, planners have decided to up their game to include a humongous fourteen in 2020. You think we’re bluffing, don’t you? But we’re honestly not. This year’s event is set to be really something.

It comes at a time when online casinos are taking over the market already, and with new online casinos popping up daily too, this commitment to poker bracelet events simply shows WSOP is trying to keep with the fast-paced times.

The first online event will be held on the first day of the tournament - a $1000 No-Limit Hold’ Em freezeout. It will be followed by a $400 No-Limit Hold’Em on May 31.

The website’s brand-new offerings include--on June 30--a $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em on June 30 and a $10,000 Super High Roller that comes into play on July 2. The buy-ins will cost from $400 to $10,000.

Each winner of the games held at the WSOP.com poker site will be awarded a gold bracelet.

WSOP.com’s Director of Online Poker Danielle Barille said: “We believe the 2020 offering of online gold bracelet events feature (sic) our best schedule yet.

“This year, we offer a consistent schedule of Sunday events every week of the WSOP, plus a special selection of eight events from June 28 to July 5 to coincide with the biggest week of the live WSOP--when most players are in town to play.”

A total of thirteen of the fourteen events will start at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT, with the $10,000 Super High Roller on July 2 beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 noon PT.

Both Nevada and New Jersey players are eligible to compete in the online poker events, which are taking place at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for the 16th year running.

The agreement between WSOP sites and the states will make it easier than ever for online players this year. Players don’t even have to be residents of the states to take part - they simply have to make sure they conduct all gameplay inside their borders.

A press release from the event organizers said it was expanding its online events to “help elevate this popular variant of poker”. While this is sure to impress many players, the more traditional of gamblers are sure to be a little disappointed with the line-up, as many believe the WSOP should remain a live poker series only.

However, with a large number of online events schedules, the odds are now favoring a win from a non-Nevada player, making it set to be an interesting tournament. And, of course, every state really wants in on the poker action--we’re seeing other states get their online poker legalized, such as Michigan, another trend showing how the world of poker in the US is swiftly changing.

Over the seven weeks, a total of 108 tournaments will take place, with a mix of signature No-Limit Hold’ Em events such as Casino Employees and popular events such as Millionaire Maker and Double Stack.

This year is the 51st event that will welcome poker’s biggest and best to Vegas in search of big wins. In 2019, the event brought in some 187,298 entrants from an incredible 118 total countries and gave out an unthinkable $293 million in payouts.

To take part in this year’s online events, players must register for a WSOP online account and will then be able to play via desktop, mobile, or tablet for all Hold’Em events.

Similar to recent years, tournament staff will be set up in the Rio Convention Center to assist online players.

A special online promotion was offered to all those who made a $10 deposit on the site between February 14 and 15, giving them a freeroll ticket.
